Business entrepreneur, William Wrigley, Jr. personally selected the parcel of land were the Wrigley Building now stands as the headquarters for his successful chewing gum business. Built in 1924, architect Charles Beersman's design of gleaming white terra cotta was an instant hit in Chicago, and features a 27-story clock tower modeled on the famed Giralda Tower in Seville. Now designated as part of the Michigan-Wacker Historic District, the Wrigley Building embodies Chicago for many residents, tourists and the public who have seen the gleaming structure in countless movies and television shows.
